Gobelins Table

tabletop 42" diameter.

The design is a part of a table known as "Table de la Manufacture des Gobelins". It was made around 1680, in the Gobelins' factory, also extremely known for his world-famous carpets and rugs.
The original table's designer is not known for sure, even if some parts of the design have been found on other pieces made by André-Charles Boulle. It is known that at this time, designs patterns were sometimes shared between one maker and another.
The original table is a rectangular shape, and the central design reproduced here is an oval shape. This masterpiece now belongs to the Jean-Paul Getty Museum.
